Justin Steave (3-0) returns to the Pinnacle Boxing ring to take on fellow undefeated prospect Joel Guevara (3-0) in what very easily could end up being the sleeper fight of the night. Steave blasted out veteran Henry Mercer in his last outing inside the ropes and has been looking better every time out while Guevara is coming in hot from his own recent stoppage win earlier this year.
Speaking of the Hawk, he recently posted a TKO stoppage over Anthony Morgan who at one time was considered a legit regional threat. These two were supposed to fight a few years back for Pinnacle FC until Morgan ducked out with some shaky, not answering the phone for 3 weeks type of excuse. Looks like ducking that match up was the right call for him after all because when they finally met up again a few years he later, Morgan was dispatched in just over 2 minutes.
Sometimes you just have to trust your gut I guess.
Anyway, The Hawk is now taking on Guevara like I said earlier and at 3-0 respectively, neither one of these guys want to drop a bout; obviously. Their risk is your gain because I can tell you this unequivocally, everyone fights a little harder when there is something to lose. So here we are again with two young, tested and capable guys heading into the match up with some good momentum and alot on the line. Not a bad place to be as a fight fan. I am fortunate enough to be apart of a company that really cares about putting together meaningful match ups to continue pushing the sport forward in our region. Expect one of those type cards July 2nd.
