Brandon Saling Is Coming To A Cage Near You In June:

By Matt Leyshock - Posted on 09 May 2012

                          Brandon Saling | Chris Goldbaugh

Looks like Brandon Saling (8-6) is stepping back into the cage sooner than expected.

According to MMA.Tv, White Steel will be competing June 2nd at the Hardknocks Fight Night going down in Wheeling West Virginia.  His opponent is none other than Chris “Shenanigans” Goldbaugh.  If you live under a rock, or have been on the lamb hiding out in a cave dug into the side of a mountain and don’t know the recent back story with Saling, here’s a quick recap.

Saling fought the uber-tough Roger Bowling on the Ohio Strikeforce undercard, after a gritty, hard fought loss it was brought to light that Saling had some issues in his past and questionable tattoos that raised some red flags.  Saling was accused of omitting his criminal background from his fighter application and some said that he would never be allowed to fight again. After a hearing with the Ohio State Athletic Commission his license was revoked for 12 months.

The suspension only holds weight in Ohio and the decision to let him compete is decided on a state by state basis.  In my opinion, Saling has repaid his “debt to society” and should be able to pursue a career in whatever he chooses after the fact.

Saling is a big step up for Goldbaugh and should prove to be a very interesting bout.

If I remember correctly, Saling's in deep with Ohio and New Jersey. Not 100% sure about that, but I seem to remember that he falsified his licensure paperwork in both states. Don't quote me on that.
I  hadnt heard anything about NJ, but from what i heard its more of a record issue as opposed to his previous problems with the OSAC

The West Virginia athletic commission hasn't approved the bout yet as far as I know but it was submitted (and listed on MMA.tv) as a potential matchup for the June 2nd card.  Hoping it goes through - this is the third time this fight has almost happened. You know what they say.
Thanks for the update
