Rock N' Rumble 6:

Cleveland’s finest fighting female pitched Angela Magana a good ol’ fashion beating for 3 active rounds. Jessica Eye used near perfect footwork and active combinations to keep Magana walking into punches round after round. Magana hung tough but just couldn’t find the handle to either land a shot big enough to build something off of or create a scramble for the takedown.  Eye stuffed all of Magana’s takedown attempts and reversed all of her Ronda Rousey-esque judo hip tosses.  Eye picked her apart stiff jabs and dropped her at least once with hard over hands.  When Magana would land the occasional hook or cross, Jessica absorbed them easily and always made her pay for it.

It was another great, not-even-a-little close performance by the Cleveland queen and if beating the brakes off of the #3 ranked fighter in the world in your weight class doesn’t get you noticed, I don’t know what will

Mike Nesto pushed Isaiah Chapman hard tonight and when things got tough, Chapman pushed back.  In the second round Chapman’s nose was busted and bleeding bad but instead of playing conservatively; he picked up the pace and battered Nesto to secure the unanimous decision.  Nesto provided some different looks for Chapman and had some success with a straight left and right hook from the southpaw stance.  Chapman adjusted well and used a hard jab with volleys of combinations to eventually dictate the exchanges.   Nesto gave up a handful of takedowns in exchange for some submission attempts but wasn’t able to secure anything serious enough to keep Chapman at bay. 

I’ll be the first to admit it, I wasn’t 100% sold on Chapman as an amateur but every single fight he proves another side of his game that wasn’t there before.  This might sound cliché, and maybe it is, but this time out Chapman proved he has the heart to persevere when the going gets tough and these guys don’t just disappear. There’s only one way to prove that and it’s trial by fire.
