Tonight's Strikeforce was a pretty great reminder of why we need to have an organization outside of the UFC to keep an honest benchmark of what televised mixed martial arts should be like.  I personally think that Mauro, Pat and Frank do a great job commentating and are undervalued as a trio. 

Tonight's main even between Josh Barnett and Daniel Cormier was a 5 round grueling affair that showed just how great Cormier is as a heavyweight prospect. 

Barnett didn't make things easy though.

Both men were significantly hurt in the bout and both recovered but not without showing the tell tale signs of coming out on the other side of a complete war. Check out the quick results after the jump:
