SteelCityFighters reports:

The 2011 Silver Gloves Boxing Tournament looks to be the best most competitive to date.  We have six nationally ranked fighters from Pittsburgh competing, including  Rico Luccione from Uniontown, who won the 2009 junior Golden Gloves Championship in Nevada.

Also: Carter Cherry won the national PAL tournament, and  Matt Conway won the Ohio State Fair and is ranked 5th in the USA; Shawn Cusick won the Arnold Classic this year; and Hugo Garcia is number two in the USA, winning the Ohio State Fair Golden Gloves.

Also on this card will be 5 non-tournament bouts, including:
Super heavyweight Eddie Latimore will be fighting an opponent from Jack Loew's Youngstown gym named Wessley Tripplete.  Mike Spearman will be fighting a Hoghead gym fighter, Tyler Jordan.  The main event features Bill Hutchinson, a boilermaker from Pittsburgh, meeting Larry Blakey from the famed 3rd avenue gym.

I have cornered Ed "Worst Case Scenario" on multiple occasions, and was his in corner during  his first fight with Tripplete.  Ed is a much different fighter now and should be able to move around the jab and land hard on the inside.  This fight will be worth the price of admission.

Mike Spearman representing Carrick boxing, has been on a tear as of late and has successfully shut down all of his opponents so far.  His match up with Tyler Jordan should prove to be a nice step up in competition.
